Welcome to Bette’s Triples –
A Cause for Paws.

Bette’s Triples honors a fierce, loving Phillies fan who battled cancer three times with grace. Her legacy lives on through her passion for animals, love for life, and dedication to others.

Along with the Phandemic Krew, let’s celebrate Bette by supporting the Pennsylvania SPCA in her name.

Here’s How It Works

Every time our Phillies hit a triple, Bette’s family donates $100 to “Bette’s Triples,” directly benefiting the Pennsylvania SPCA. It’s a fun and meaningful way to turn on-field excitement into real-world impact for animals in need.

Want to get involved? You can pledge your own amount per triple, make a one-time gift, or become a monthly donor. Every donation—big or small—helps rescue, protect, and care for animals in the greater Philadelphia area.

Join us in honoring Bette’s legacy and supporting a cause close to her heart. Together, we can make every triple count!

Bette’s Story

Bette’s story exemplifies extraordinary courage and infinite love, narrated through the lens of someone who lived as a warrior against cancer not once, but thrice. Each confrontation with the disease highlighted her indomitable spirit and profound dedication to imparting lessons of resilience and love. Her existence was an exemplary guide on how to embrace life with passion and love with intensity.

As a die-hard supporter of the Phillies, Bette’s enthusiasm never diminished, even during her most trying moments. She found the strength to encourage everyone to watch the games, sharing her joy and enthusiasm, making sure that the excitement she felt for her team was a collective experience.

Her affection for animals was limitless, leading her to pursue studies in Zoology. Though she never professionally worked in a zoo, their home became a sanctuary for cats and dogs, each reflecting Bette’s compassionate and caring nature.

You are invited to celebrate Bette’s remarkable legacy with her family and The Phandemic Krew. Let’s honor her incredible journey, love for the Phillies, and compassionate spirit by supporting “Bette’s Triples,” a cause close to her heart supporting the Pennsylvania SPCA.

Last Year Bette’s Triples Raised $10,026 for The PSPCA

In 2024, the Phillies hit 26 triples, raising over $10,000 for the PSPCA through Bette’s Triples. For 2025, Bette’s family is pledging $100 per triple again—throughout the season and the World Series. Join the fun and support the cause for paws—every triple makes a difference for animals in need.

About The PSPCA

Founded in 1867, the Pennsylvania SPCA is one of the nation’s oldest animal welfare organizations. Its mission is to protect animals, prevent cruelty, and improve the lives of pets and their owners through adoption, rescue, and veterinary care. Headquartered in Philadelphia, the PSPCA operates humane law enforcement, shelters, and community outreach programs across Pennsylvania. They serve abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, advocating for their rights and welfare. By offering education, medical services, and compassionate shelter, the PSPCA ensures animals find loving homes and communities are empowered to support animal well-being.

“It’s not enough to love animals; we must actively protect and preserve them. It’s our duty and responsibility as custodians of this planet.”

— Daphne Sheldrick
